This is the part where I tell you a little about myself…
My favorite color is purple, favorite band is U2, favorite word is a toss-up between Tool and Boobies., favorite holiday is Thanksgiving…
I have a BS in Biology, a minor in psychology, and I would have a MS in wildlife biology if I didn’t walk away from my thesis.
What’s in a name?
Dana Teresa Strang. That’s me.
As far as I have been able to determine, my parents named me…
Dana because: it is not too common, they were pretty sure I wouldn’t get teased for it, and nothing goes with Strang. Practical and considerate. Thanks mom and dad!
Teresa is my mom’s name, and though I am so much like her that is not who I was named for. It is for Great Aunt Teresa. That name is always said with a sort of awe. She was the family Matriarch and even though I was very young when she passed away, I still vaguely remember her. She is not the sort of woman you forget.
Strang, well there wasn’t much choice in that matter. Thanks for this one Dad! Strang seems like such a very simple name. Then why do all of you people insist on turning it into: Strange, Strong, Strung… come on people!!
Where am I from?
I was born and raised in Upstate New York.
I have been to NYC, Florida, and North Carolina more times than I can count. I have been to every state on the east coast but Maine; and every state on the Gulf Coast but Texas. Hmmm… road trip anyone?
I have lived in Maryland and Virginia.I have spent ti me in Northern California and even Kenya. What can I say, I love to travel and never pass up a chance to do it. If this writing gig checks out, maybe I will be doing more if it. For now, I am here in NY just plodding along.
Who am I?
If I could answer that maybe I would not be an unemployed struggling writer! Who am I kidding? Sure I would be.
To be honest, I know exactly who I am. I would tell you, but we would be here much longer than either of us want to be. I am multifaceted – like a gem!
So if I am not going to tell you who I am, how will you know?
Read my writing. I am in every word of it.
